Desperadas 2 - A regal entertainment release written by Roy Iglesias and directed by the progressive and critically acclaimed Joel Lamangan. The movie is actually a sequel to the first one, the Desperadas. A movie about 4 women having the same mother but born with different fathers. Casts of the original movie is played by Marian Rivera, Iza Calzado, RuffaMae Quinto and Ruffa Gutierrez with an additional cast this time in the person of Eugene Dominggo who also happens to play a major role for another entry to the MMFF list of movie participants for the yearly tradition of awards given by the MMFF management.

Ang Tanging Ina Nyong Lahat - This is another sequel to the original comedy movie “Ang Tanging Ina” which happened to claim so many awards in one of the previous MMFF 5 years ago including Best Actress by Ai Ai Delas Alas, this time again with co-star Eugene Domingo. Iskul Bukol 20 Years After - The return of the Escalera Brothers is here. The wacky combination of Tito, Vic and Joey rocks the cinemas this year 2008 with probably the biggest bang in their trio after 20 years of silence of the Iskul Bukol sitcome in the early 80’s. Today is the time they try to give more laughter to the people from the Philippines with this entry to the MMFF in the first ever sequel to the long lost Iskul Bukol in Wanbol University of the dreaded wise men from Wanbol University. Iskul Bukol story and screenplay is written by Bibeth Oteza with director Tony Y. Reyes for Octo-Arts/M-Zet Production.

Baler - A Viva Films presentation, this movie stars the looks and likes of two of the most beautiful people in the showbiz industry in the Philippines in the person of Anne Curtis and Jericho Rosales, Nikki Bacolod, Joel Torre, Philipi Salvador and Leo Martinez. Script is written by Roy Iglesias and directed by Mark Meily. This movie is somewhat about the seige of Baler in the war set-up era where a love story is written while the seige of Baler Quezon is going on. An epic love story under the war beseiged Baler, Quezon in the early Spanish Era. WATCH THE VIDEO HERE.

One Night Only - by Canary Films

Shake Rattle and Roll X - The Classic Trilogy horror film from the early 90’s (as far as I can remember). This movie offer from Regal Films, directed by Mike Tuvierra and Topel Lee is a trilogy of horrors in 3 parts and episodes. Dividing the horrors this Christmas story turned horror into 3 to give more fun and thrill in cost-effective way by rendering as good as 3 movies rolled in one. Stars include some of the brightest stars of Regal teeners like Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Erich Gonzales, Roxan Guinoo and more.WATCH THE VIDEO HERE.

Magkaibigan - Under Maverick Films with last year’s best actor Jinngoy Estrada producing and starring in the movie. It is actually a movie tribute for a best friend who passed away, Rudy Fernandez this year.

Dayo ( a great animated movie you must see ) - Under Cutting Edge, this is the first animated movie accepted to take part in the MMFF 2008 series of awarding held each year and a history in the making. This animated movie is directed by Robert Quilao with Artemio Abad and Eric Cabahug. I am telling you this is something that Filipinos can be really really proud of because of the quite unique collaboration done here as you see one of the best if not the best animated movie ever done in the Philippines since Panday. The animation is indeed the best among what I have seen done in the Philippines and proudly Filipino. I personally salute this effort to render such quality so that investors for Philippine animation will see that it is possible with some of the best an animation artists in the world proven to have come from the Philippines and as seen in this movie.
