Playmates play first Philippine Dodgeball Tournament

Playboy Philippines together with the Philippine Dodgeball Association held the first annual national dodgeball tournament last May 30 2009 at Club 650 in Libis, QC.

8 teams slam to win the crown. 2 of which were from the blogging community. first team is the Blogballers consisted of me, jeff, azrael, dong, rochelle and cher. next is Digital Manila with alvin, raredog, leirs, aethen, jp, carl and jonel.

since this is a Playboy event, you should expect Playmates hopping around. their magic 6 and alternates gave the other players a chance of their fierceness and proved that they are not just ordinary sexy girls. getting the third spot of the competition.

congratulations to the three teams that won the tournament:

Team Balls of Fury - 2nd Place
Team Playmates - 3rd Place

Blogballers and Digital Manila were not able to get in the semis though remained sports and just enjoyed the rest of the game. even though, special honors are given to each team's MVPs. alvin for Digital Manila and me (as proxy to jeff who should be really the one to accept the award) for Blogballers.

Happy National Flag Day, Philippines!

May 28 is commemorated as the National Flag Day in the Philippines. to remember and pay respects to our National Flag, i would like to take us again to History 101 and the role of the symbol of our country.

the Philippine Flag was designed by the first president of the country, Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo and other leaders. it was sewn by Marcela Agoncillo in Hong Kong. yes, not here in the Philippines but it made its debut on the morning of June 12 1898 -- the proclamation of Philippine independence from the Spanish colony.

the design was tri-color, two bands of blue on top and red at the bottom, an equilateral triangle bearing a sun of 8 rays, symbolizing the eight provinces that revolted against the Spaniards during the great dispute. three stars for Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, the 3 islands of the Philippines. before it had its design as of now, it underwent a lot of studies and evolutions.

the flag is always raised along the singing of Lupang Hinirang, the Philippine National Anthem.

Mike Tyson's daughter Exodus dies after an accident

Exodus Tyson, 4, dies at a hospital after a tragic incident at their home in Phoenix, Monday. her neck was caught by a treadmill cord, the police said. she has been on life support and pronounced dead before noon. companions of Exodus tried to save her and called 911 for support to revive her.

“There are no words to describe the tragic loss of our beloved Exodus,” the family said in a statement. “We ask you now to please respect our need at this very difficult time for privacy to grieve and try to help each other heal.”

former boxing heavyweight champion Mike Tyson was in Las Vegas that time when the accident happened and flew immediately to Phoenix to rush to the hospital.

Ohmski Birthday Triduum

everything went to my favor as i welcome my silver year. the events and things that i wanted to do on my birthday went smoothly as planned. first, i was able to attend the FHM Street Party at Eastwood City, Libis. the night was fun especially when you had sexiness overload on the side. i was with Joriben who became my companion throughout the event.

but before i went there, i purchased two items that i really wanted to have. one is the FHM May 2009 issue which is my ticket to enter the party. and second, D' Mas Nakakalurkei na Album by no other than the Tambalang Balasubas at Balahura of Love Radio 90.7.

it was really sexiness overload as FHM models strut the ramp. the event was hosted by Andrea del Rosario joined by the Kitty Girls, Paloma, Carlene Aguilar and lastly Bangs Garcia who is the current cover girl of FHM for May 2009. Itchyworms, one of my favorite OPM band, opened the show with their latest single "Gusto Ko Lamang sa Buhay." around the area were special booths that will raise the hell out of you with girls giving you a massage, treat you like a king, do a lapdance or even a pole dance.

after the party, jori and i went to McDonalds for our evening snack. then Azrael and Ronald found us and we did a little chitchat. but without my knowledge, since there is no TV available at McDonald's, here's what's happening on TV!


thanks to Flow who gave the video. i really didn't expect that my birthday would extend publicity upto the television. sadly, i haven't caught it when it aired.

next morning, though i was still a little sleepy,. i got up to get my itinerary done. i rushed to two radio stations and release the fanboy in my nerves. i first went to Love Radio at the CCP Complex to catch one of my favorite radio shows: the Tambalang Balasubas at Balahura. yeah, i was greeted on radio and had my copies of their albums signed. Nicole Hyala even gave me an experience of being a DJ for a moment. it was fun seeing them live and given the "Happy, happy, happy birth... day!" chant. but as every Tambalan experience, i was being mocked on air in a funny way. she said that my birthday would be corny if i haven't gone through that.

then i dropped by at the RX studios in Ortigas to catch another radio show. DJ Gelli and DJ Jude for The Ride. if i haven't introduced myself from the Manila Atlas event, she wouldn't remember me but she found me very familiar. also finding on location were Chico and Delamar who are hosts of The Morning Rush. also one of my favorite shows every morning.

after my radio station tour, it's time to get to the next part of my birthday tour. after being a fan, it became educational to roam around Marikina and visit exceptional spots that i haven't been before. i went through the Shoe Museum that houses Imelda Marcos's shoes and so with popular personalities. i wasn't able to take pictures inside for it was prohibited. i caught a little trivia that the late President Marcos's shoes were elevated because his wife stands taller than him.

then i went to the Miniature Museum that's takes only a little walk. inside were little artifacts made by Aleli Vengua since 1977. the museum showcases different types of home designs and figures depicting culture.

the entrance at both museums are only Php 50.

lastly, i went to the World of Butterflies also in Marikina. it's time to commune with nature and relieve myself from the stress that i acquired in the morning. i came back to the elementary days that we were studying the metamorphosis of butterflies. the World of Butterflies is caging 8 species for now for they are seasonal.

then i met mama by the block and we went home together. she surprised me that we are going to the Manila Ocean Park. i've always wanted to go there so i was very excited. after getting our stomachs full from the pancit that my brother prepared for my birthday, we freshened up and immediately went to Manila. however, we weren't able to get into the Ocean Park because we were late by almost an hour after the ticket sales closed. so we got home and returned the next day.

by that time, we went earlier to Manila Ocean Park. we really enjoyed walking around and learning more stuff about the marine life.

without any material gifts received for my birthday, i can say that my 25th birthday is the best!

yes, i am turning silver tomorrow. and with the previous 24 years of my life, i can say that a lot of things have happened and changed and i still have more to take. my life took a lot of challenges and achievements but still, i have to move on. better to leave all bad things behind and start anew.

i have to spend my birthday alone this time. do things that i really wanted to do. i have to say to myself, "the sky is the limit." get off from the stress and search my soul. no, i won't travel at a distance but i will lurk around. it's better to GET LOST and see what's ahead of me. hehe. but still i have to be extra careful with my surroundings.

i have to start my day early. pray to God for my survival and the people i love. i have to thank you everyone for making my life colorful.

i would like to accomplish several things on my birthday:

1. BE A FAN: i have to catch the Tambalan ON AIR and have their records autographed. then go to the RX studios to catch Chico and Delamar.
2. a big Marikina Tour at these places:
   
   • the Shoe Museum
   • the World of Butterlies
   • the Doll Museum
3. i have to be strict on the budget so i have to minimize the expense on food. maybe a pares or kwek kwek with rice will do and i should bring crackers on my trip.
4. an experimentation on myself. an ear piercing might do the trick. and to add silver on my anatomy.
   
5. and finally, take a long rest after the long day.

but before i end this, i might also want to wish on a couple of things. though some might seem impossible, a kind heart will be very much appreciated:

KRIS ALLEN wins AMERICAN IDOL

KRIS ALLEN is crowned the 8th American Idol after competing against Adam Lambert. i would like to enumerate some reasons why Kris Allen had won this competition:

1. he is the type of contestant that an American Idol resembles. unlike Adam Lambert that is so out of the box, the reason why he gained his popularity.
2. the votes of the fans of those who got eliminated shifted to Kris Allen. that includes the youngsters and those under the family orientation. let's admit that the number of rockers are still no match to pop.
3. Kris Allen won the 2 out of 3 rounds from the performances last night. Adam Lambert wasn't so lucky there.

with Kris Allen now the new American Idol, the next battle is the market sales of the singles and albums. good luck guys

Chace Crawford on "Footloose" remake

Chace Crawford will officially star on the Footloose remake as Paramount Pictures confirms on Usmagazine.com.

the Gossip Girl star will play Ren McCormack in the film after it was blocked by the production to release the statement until Wednesday. the lead role was played by Kevin Bacon in the 1984 hit.

however, Zac Efron, the High School Musical star, was also being considered to play the role and created rivalry between fans of Chace Crawford and Zac Efron.

Chace Crawford hasn't officially signed up for the contract and still struggling for making time with his Gossip Girl shoots.

i really hope that this movie will be set up into the modern setting. but it would be fun to see the cast in the 80's fashion bringing the nostalgia among the generation that saw it. besides, girls will be lining up to the cinemas with Chace Crawford starring the movie.

ANGELS and DEMONS movie review

i would like to applaud Ron Howard for delivering a movie that rises your interest from start to end. i haven't read the book yet but the movie itself has redeemed Ron Howard's not-so-good reviews from The Da Vinci Code.

another applause for Dan Brown for creatively stitching all symbolisms and artifacts of the Catholic Church's history in one fiction story that leaves us all thinking if they were true. the politics and ambitions that happen inside Conclave and the so-called "war" between science and religion.

as for those that have read the book and seen the movie, the pope dies and the College of Cardinals was assembled for Conclave. it was there that they choose the next pope. and all rituals are to followed as dictated by tradition: the destruction of the late pope's symbols.

meanwhile, an unexpected come back of the Church's enemy, the group of the Illuminati -- devoted to prove that science is the reason of all existence in contrary of the Church's belief that a Higher Power created all things -- raged upon the creation of Anti-Matter.

the Illuminati had their revenge by kidnapping 4 cardinals and kill them one by one in public according to the four elements: Earth, Air, Fire and Water and lastly to bind the church in light killing all inside the Vatican City. even the killing of the pope was also plotted by the unexpected person, the Carmelengo himself. his presence inside the Vatican made him fulfill his ambition and igniting the war between the church and Illuminati. the manner of the killing among the cardinals were very gruesome and you will feel pity to them.

the movie gave us an inside tour of the Vatican and Rome and it was fascinating how they made the sets almost the exact replicas of the real thing. for they are not allowed with access inside.

i've read the other reviews and they have the same sentiments with this movie. the actors line-up was good and Tom Hanks did better this time. Ayelet Zurer as Vittoria was very effective to the role. and even Ewan McGregor played very well too.

Miss California 2009 - feat Perez Hilton

Miss California 2009 Carrie Prejean seems to be happier in a longer time that she will remain as Miss California despite the racy photos of her that surfaced the internet. Shanna Moakler was not so happy about this and caused her to resign as co-director of the Miss California pageant after the Miss California press conference that Donald Trump decided that Miss California will still be Carrie Prejean.

Carrie Prejean stated a view on same sex marriage that was asked by Perez Hilton during the Miss California 2009 pageant. apparently, Carrie Prejean didn't quite jive in with the beliefs of Perez Hilton.

not very long after the Miss USA pageant, Perez Hilton put up a video on Youtube stating his case attacking Miss California that resulted into a huge catfight on the web.

the racy photos of Carrie Prejean were taken when she was still 17 and were being used to pull bad publicity against her to strip off the crown.

American Idol 8: May 13 results

Danny Gokey got eliminated May 13 on American Idol thus leaving this season with another man vs man face off between Adam Lambert and Kris Allen.

Gokey has been a strong contender in American Idol but has not successfully made it this week. on the other hand, Lambert and Allen have been included in the bottom rank prior May 13.

IMO, i think Gokey should stay in American Idol. the show may lack some competition factor for i think the final two isn't the same level. true that they both have great singing talents but Danny Gokey is a better competitor to Adam Lambert than Kris Allen.

i'll just hope for a really good American Idol show next week for the finale.
