Walt Disney is back to drawn animation. The Princess and the Frog is a twisted tale loosely based on E.D. Baker's famous fairy tale, The Frog Princess and the Grimm Brother's The Frog Prince. this is set in the Jazz Era of New Orleans where music and dance fills the surroundings of people with great dreams. adding to the Princess Collection of Cinderella, Snow White, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and Anastacia, is a humble Tiana working as a waitress until see crossed path with an unlikely new friend, Prince Naveen who was cursed by a voodoo practice. Prince Naveen was supposed to be married to Tiana's friend who was the daughter of the richest man in New Orleans.
assuming that they knew how to break the spell, Tiana, who wore a princess costume, kissed Naveen and unexpectedly she became a frog too. now their adventure started until they fell inlove and then eventually broke the spell. *no spoilers there. tee-hee*
Walt Disney never fails to give us heart-warming animations like The Princess and the Frog. and this one gives a broader view of society and dreaming and wishing. you'll love the music and powerful lines from the characters that you'll believe in fairy tales again. it also displays strong friendship and sacrifice. but in spite of great despair, it teaches you how to dream and that you'll get it big.
The Princess and the Frog will leap on Philippine Cinemas on February 3, 2010.
