G's SPA - ecoliving relaxation

standing at the center of ecoliving in Sta. Rosa, Laguna is a place for relaxation and peace. G's Spa Place of Wellness, a short drive from Nuvali, a quiet sanctuary that rejuvenates your well-being with their relaxing services. so at the time that i was asked to try it, i really took the opportunity to pamper myself.

this started from the concept of the Guevarra siblings, who one's wife has undergone an accident and needs therapy. and meeting an Indonesian who is an expert, they have developed an appropriate business that not only lessens stress but provided jobs to nearby residents. a good advocacy to the owners that deserve a good return.

though a long drive from Manila, you will be taken to a soft place designed with traditional Pinoy-con-Thai interiors. overseeing the areas of Nuvali and South Forbes. nature is very much prominent that's why clean air circulates inside the room. life elements such as wood and water are predominantly decorating the spa.

Spa Area and Jacuzzi

welcome yourself with sweet and clearing ginger and lemongrass tea with honey. relax your senses and sip on this concoction before you take the therapy. and once inside the spa area, you will be invited to a cozy feeling. there are rooms good for up to 6 patients and served with friendly and well-trained masseuses.

i tried the Lapis-lapis or the Body Wrap. getting a good moderate massage from head to foot, i was wrapped in plastic for around 15 minutes, while my body is spread with a mixture of macapuno, which is a breakthrough in spa technology, only found in G's Spa Place of Wellness. the heat gives you a relaxing feeling inside the wrap and here's a good catch -- i lost .40 pounds afterwards which is good enough to relive my motivation to lost those extra waist inches and toxins.

and after that relaxing treatment, take a sip again of their signature ginger ale and clear your senses.

GREEN LANTERN movie review

what can you say about the Green Lantern movie starring Ryan Reynolds? other than it's made by Warner Bros. Pictures tying up with DC Comics, it's got great action, OK for 3D, and it's showing starting June 16 in Philippine theaters.

Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) is a brave pilot who was chosen by the powerful Green Lantern ring. from the original owner, he will be tasked to defend the universe from an increasing threat of Parallax. and he will be alienated in a new world in another sector of the universe where he will be trained as the new Green Lantern and be part of the corps.

and with the power of the ring, he will be indispensable. his imagination can defend himself and others from harm. however, disguising under a green mask and a body fit, almost fleshy suit, Carol Ferris (Blake Lively) still recognizes him, which is a very funny part. other than that, i found his imaginations a little bit childish. don't judge me if i'm not a comic-reader or a superhero fanatic, but wheels on a helicopter and making it to a roller coaster?!

anyway, the plot of the movie is just so simple. but i hope sequels will be better. try to watch until the end credits because there's still something for you.

XMEN FIRST CLASS movie review

20th Century Fox and Marvel unfolds the story behind the mutant group that is either our friends or enemies. X-Men First Class shows the beginnings of the league started by Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) which opens today, June 2 in Philippine theaters and June 3 internationally.

in time of war, the mutants are already upon us and Charles Xavier devoted his time researching for the cause and how it can be utilized in every day life. unfortunately, military tactical groups have seen this opportunity to utilize mutants for warfare. and on the other side of the story, bad mutants like Sebastian Shaw (Kevin Bacon), Emma Frost (January Jones) and Riptide (Alex Gonzales) had been scheming with the other military team for business purposes and domination of the world.

as Xavier discovers the wonders of mutation, Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender), a depressed Polish is in search for the Nazis who killed his parents. he developed his power in anger and rage. they got a chance to meet with Xavier and learned to control his rage along with the other young mutants.

other than all the mutant-powers extravaganza of the story, you may also want to check out the story of Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) on how she discovers and uses her powers to capture the hearts of men. on the note that she is in full-blue, the costume is great with scales. her love story with Hank McCoy (Nicholas Hoult) gave as the human characters of mutants in order to understand that they want to live normally as humans do.

set in around 1940-1960's, when the Americans and Russians are racing each other for advancements, the technical sets are noticeable with materials and equipments. even the fashion of the cast blended in.

generally, the movie is good and a must-watch even for non-geeks. the movie generally focused on the storyline other than giving us blasts and violence. this is rather emotional than visual, i think.
