THE HANGOVER 3 movie review

the Wolfpack of Phil (Bradley Cooper), Doug (Justin Bartha), Stu (Ed Helms) and Alan (Zack Galifianakis) are back in the epic conclusion of THE HANGOVER trilogy. it may be sad for all of The Hangover fans to end the series but their mischief will surely stick to our memories.
it starts with Leslie Chow (Ken Jeong) escaping from the prison in Thailand from charges committed from drug dealing, stealing, etc. when almost everyone taking their quiet times, Alan still wants to blow the neighborhood down with his acts. acting as his support group, the guys are ready to take over but mayhem follows them until it drives them to the Sin City, Las Vegas. the crime solving incidents puts them into layers of trouble but consequences get to be great turning points.
though this is the end, i think it is also the most serious among the trilogy. lesser WTF moments throughout the movie and concluding with more friendly lessons. the still annoying, sic and funny Mr. Chow puts the crowd in a high with Alan. as you though that Alan will not have any great moments in the movie, think again as he will mature in the process. like the other 2 movies, you also have to standby after a few seconds during the credits that gives the funniest part.
THE HANGOVER 3 is directed by Todd Phillips and will be available in theaters starting May 29. distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures (Philippines).

THE GREAT GATSBY movie review

fell in love again with Baz Luhrman's directorial skills in Warner Bros. Pictures' adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgeral's THE GREAT GATSBY.
set in the Jazz Age, a person named Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio) is looked upon the whole community of New York for his glamorous parties and generous gatherings. a wealth of almost anything you see in the place owned by a former officer with very humble beginnings. despite the great hospitality, suspicions and curiosity arise from around him but one would never turn his back off Gatsby, his neighbor. it was indeed a story of life's rise and fall, you may be very happy one day but fate will definitely play on you.
one thing that i can say about Baz Luhrman is that he puts on high production treatment but it is noticeable that the execution is very much similar to Moulin Rouge. that theatrical experience, extravagant sets and costume design really display much of the Jazz Age as if the fun never stops. Leo, Tobey and the rest of the cast I think did pretty good. everyone took the limelight but I did not feel the connection of the actors to each other. it seems that chemistry lacks between them.

for a story like The Great Gatsby, you'll definitely learn sweetness and even bitterness of reality. it will leave you with a lesson that you may not expect those people that you help or entertain. sometimes, the most trustworthy people will come out from the most unexpected relationships. sometimes, they may be just beside you so you have to appreciate them.
The Great Gatsby opens May 17 in theaters nationwide. distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures (Philippines)

the GATSBY fashion

the glamorous '20s fashion of Warner Bros.' THE GREAT GATSBY is something to adore. sparkling like champagne, the ladies are strutting the way baring their skins. adorned by accessories that glitter in the strike of light. angelic faces that are the life of parties and indeed toast to a longer night. vibrant colors add to the festivities. more socials, the better.
while the men propose with a macho scene, a deserving member of the high society, the sheer coat, the snappy tie and with the glare of shining leather. you can also notice that the hair is well-fixed. and even a dash of water cannot ruin its brush. the decade that everything seems to be perfect.
on the event of the lavish parties and fame, Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio) still cannot hide the past. with his Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) discovers cracks of Gatsby's richness and later lures in madness and tragedy.

THE GREAT GATSBY opens tomorrow, May 17, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

STAR TREK Into Darkness movie review

i haven't got the chance to see Star Trek 1 in the movie houses but Star Trek: Into Darkness didn't fail me to enjoy it. seeing it last Friday in a premiere screening was a good experience to know the friendship and adventures of Kirk (Chris Pine) and Spock (Zachary Quinto) from the TV series of my childhood.
Star Trek: Into Darkness mainly narrates a manhunt for a one-man terror machine that threatens the destruction of the world. and this mission of the Enterprise crew to capture this man and save the world. just another heroic deed with a lot of drama to the bromance of Spock and Kirk as the rest of the crew are making their move not to crash the spacecraft and smash the world.

it's a good hype for Trekkies to anticipate for this movie but it didn't surprise me at all nor even increased excitement towards the end. merely seeing an episode of Star Trek on TV with just a lengthened exposure with the casts. bringing in more functions about the crew with that little romance and emotions from Spock and Uhura (Zoe Saldana), and a sparking attraction with Carol (Alice Eve) and Kirk. 3D watching is not worth it.

you may catch it starting May 15 at theaters nationwide (Philippines).
